Everton have signed midfielder Dennis Adeniran from Fulham, but what does the England U18 international have to offer?

After the frustration and disappointment of these past two days, it’s time to concentrate on something a bit more positive. More specifically, lets take a look at someone who Everton did manage to sign, before the conclusion of the transfer window.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Blues have signed Dennis Adeniran on a four-year deal. Including add-ons, the move could eventually cost around £4 million.

Of course, £4 million in today’s professional game is not exactly breaking the bank. And yet, a lot of Evertonians could still be forgiven for asking who Adeniran is and if he’s worth the fee?

In many respects, Everton are taking a gamble in paying for what is essentially just potential at this stage. However, it is still a risk worth taking.

More from Everton FC News

Despite being just 18-years-old, the youngster has already made his mark, after scoring on his professional debut for Fulham just over a year ago. He has also already seen experience at the international level, having made 15 total appearances for England at the U17 and U18 level.

One of the main attributes of Adeniran, is his vision, which allows him to play in most positions in midfield. In addition, he is remarkably composed for someone at such a young age, making the Blues’ gamble even more understandable.

Regardless of all his talent and potential, the Southwark-born player will begin his Everton career with the U23 team. In truth, this makes perfect sense, given his lack of first team experience.

Adeniran becomes just the latest player to join David Unsworth’s side, along with the likes of Lewis Gibson, Josh Bowler and Boris Mathis. He should prove to be a useful addition, as the U23s look to retain their Premier League 2 title.
