Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Ademola Lookman, but should Everton allow the young forward to leave?

As once again illustrated by Sunday’s demoralising 1-0 loss to BurnleyEverton need help up front. However, is it possible they will lose one of their attackers, when the transfer window reopens in January?

As per a report from Adrian Kajumba of The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Ademola Lookman. The youngster only joined Everton in January, but is already uncertain of his future on Merseyside.

The Blues have struggled to score goals so far this season. Regardless, Lookman has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

You imagine this must be extremely frustrating for the 19-year-old, who is highly rated. Certainly, Koeman’s reluctance to use him more is surprising, especially when you consider Everton paid £11 million to sign him from Charlton Athletic.

And it isn’t as if Lookman shies away from big moments, as evidenced by scoring on his debut for the Blues, against Manchester City last season. He also helped England win the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, by contributing three goals.

With all this in mind, you can understand why Spurs are interested in the forward. As noted by Kajumba, Huddersfield and Crystal Palace are reportedly also keen to sign him in January.

In truth though, we don’t see the Toffees selling Lookman, at least not if they’re smart about this situation. At the very least, they need to give him an extended run in the side, to actually find out what he can do for them.

If the Blues don’t even do this, then what was the point in signing him in the first place? As we say though, we don’t see Lookman leaving, at least not yet, with more than three and a half years remaining on his current contract.
