Tom Davies’ hamstring injury is apparently only a minor issue, but will the young midfielder miss any playing time for Everton?
There’s no denying it’s been an extremely disappointing season for Everton up to this point. The bright spots have been rare, with Jordan Pickford in particular standing out in this category.
Another one of the few positives has been Tom Davies. He’s shown he belongs in the Premier League, having appeared in all 11 games, including five starts.
As such, when Davies withdrew from contention for England’s Under 21 squad last week, there was quite a lot of concern emanating from the blue half of Merseyside. At the time, the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King reported the young midfielder had returned to Everton to receive treatment on a hamstring issue.
The injury has been described as nothing serious, although this is easy to say when it comes to hamstring problems. Understandably, Evertonians will be concerned about if the 19-year-old will miss any playing time, given how important he already is to the team.

Assuming it is just a minor strain or muscle pull, it should only take a few days to heal. However, if it is anything more serious, it could be several weeks.
There has been no update as of yet. However, we should expect one in the coming days, once the international games are over and everyone has returned to their clubs for training.
Davies will be eager to get back to action as soon as possible for Everton, to continue building on his form this season. He has been given even more responsibility since David Unsworth took over as caretaker manager, twice playing the entire 90 minutes for the team.
The Liverpool-born teenager first came into the limelight during the 2016-17 campaign, scoring his first goal in the 4-0 win over Manchester City and being named man of the match. At the end of the season, he was named Everton’s Young Player of the Year.
