A report claims Fenerbahce will offer to take Davy Klaassen on loan in January. Could it be just what the Everton midfielder needs, to rediscover his form?
When Everton signed Davy Klaassen during the summer, everyone associated with the club was understandably excited. He had enjoyed success with Ajax both domestically and in Europe, been named club captain and played at the international level for the Netherlands.
As such, signing Klaassen for £24 million seemed to make a lot of sense. Unfortunately for both the player and the team, things have not gone quite as planned.
In short, the 24-year-old has struggled so far for Everton and been limited to 13 appearances and no goals in all competitions. Impacted by tactics and a loss of confidence, he has played just twice during the last two months.
So, where does Klaassen go from here? He didn’t become a bad player overnight.
If a recent report is anything to go by, the solution could come courtesy of Fenerbahce. According to talkSPORT, the Turkish club are preparing to make a move for Klaassen, when the transfer window reopens in January.

it’s hard to imagine the Blues giving up so soon on someone they signed to a five-year deal. However, this shouldn’t be an issue, since Fenerbahce will offer to take the Hilversum-born player on loan.
Theoretically, this could be just what Klaassen needs, especially if Sam Allardyce has no intention of giving him regular first team football anytime soon. talkSport claims Fenerbahce are yet to open negotiations with Everton, but they are apparently confident of agreeing a deal.
Of course, there is the player himself to consider. You assume Klaassen will speak to Allardyce before any decision is made.
