Everton versus Brighton Match Preview: Preferred Lineup

Everton is set to face Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend in the Premier League. The Toffees current form has been dreadful, and now is as good a time as any to turn it around.
Everton will play Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees have a great home record this season, but their current form does not suggest this will be an easy match.
It is extremely difficult to discern where exactly Everton’s season went wrong. However, one thing is for certain – their mentality is still very weak.
The Blues must play a more expansive brand of football is they want to break down Brighton. Furthermore, they will need to keep a close eye on Pascal Gross.
Setting a team up for success is at the very core of a successful side and it is Sam Allardyce’s responsibility to do so. Below is the lineup I would prefer to see in a 4-3-3 formation.
GK: Pickford
Jordan Pickford should have come off his line to prevent Burnley’s first goal last week in what was a forgettable performance. However, he is still the undisputed number one.
Defense: Coleman, Holgate, Funes Mori, Baines
Ramiro Funes Mori and Leighton Baines are supposed to be fit for the weekend. Holgate has easily been one of the best defenders this season and Funes Mori should partner him as a naturally left-sided centerback.

Seamus Coleman and Baines will offer much-needed quality in defense and in possession. They will be the key to unlocking Brighton’s defense.
Midfield: Gana, Davies, Sigurdsson
Idrissa Gueye and Tom Davies will offer the energy and stability in midfield to push the Blues forward. Gylfi Sigurdsson has to be played in the center of the pitch in order to be effective. He has been in pretty good form as of late.
Forwards: Bolasie, Tosun, Walcott
Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott will offer pace on the outside which will be largely important against such a compact opponent. Cenk Tosun found the back of the net last weekend and looks to be forming a good partnership with the Ice Man.
Next: Blues need to prepare now
Regardless of recent form, the Blues have a good shot at a positive result at Goodison Park on Saturday. The Toffees must show confidence and self-control in order to produce what they are capable of.
