With Egyptian wingers all the rage on Merseyside, given Mohamad Sala’s amazing season at Anfield, it appears Everton might be looking to sign one of his international team mates, Mahmoud Hassan.

The Sun are reporting that Everton have been tracking Hassan with a view to moving for him in the summer. The winger is currently playing on loan in Turkey for Kasimpasa from parent club Anderlecht.

Bournemouth are also rumoured to be after the player but you would think the Blues would be in the box seat if they want him.

Hassan, who is nicknamed ‘Trezeguet’ after the former French striker, has, according to the paper, had a fine season scoring 12 goals and making three assists.

Now he wants a move from Anderlecht after the World Cup and is looking to follow in his team mates’, footsteps and come to England.

This further transfer rumour is one of a number of players who might be possible signings Everton are being linked with.

Once more the Blues are being associated with another attacker from somewhere in Europe’s leagues. As with so many of these rumours it’s very difficult to say whether any of it is true or likely to come to fruition.

Hassan will probably come at a reasonable fee but to be honest while it’s possible to find a real gem still for an affordable amount, if you really want a top quality attacker you’ve got to pay top prices.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

In other comings and goings featuring Everton, the club are supposedly moving closer to securing the services of PSV Eindhoven’s Marcel Brands.

This story has been rumbling along for several weeks now. Brands is the scouting and transfer guru at the Dutch giants, who has become hot property around Europe.

Several Premier League clubs have been interested in him. And according to Sky Sports, it’s Everton who are close to agreeing a deal to recruit Brands for the club’s backroom staff.

The word is he has a lot of contacts in South America and would be able to improve the Blues reach and recruitment in those areas. If he could find another Coutinho, or Richarlison that would certainly be a bonus.

As we’ve discussed before this move would surely place the role of Steve Walsh at the Blues in jeopardy.

It’s been looking pretty certain for a while that Walsh will be moving on this summer as his reign at Everton has not exactly worked out as hoped.

Whether or not that is the case let’s hope if the club go forward with this move it turns out to be the right appointment this time.
