With all relatively quiet on the Everton front, we decided to have a look at a couple of Silva linked players.
With Marco Silva now leading the charge, attention turns to who will be in the Everton squad when opening day comes round. Rumours of the next targets have started to swirl.
According to Sky Sports news, William Carvalho might be the first of the Silva era. Carvalho has been linked with the Blues in the past, but with ex-coach Silva as Everton’s skip, the chances look very good to land the defensive midfielder.
Silva and Carvalho worked together at Sporting Lisbon and this bond could signal the end of Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Stats
Although Carvalho is less of a tackler than Morgan, he is a more accurate passer. Carvalho has an 88.5% pass percentage rate compared to Morgan’s 84.4%. This would seem to fit well for a more attacking minded manager such as Silva and could bring some much-needed excitement to our squad.
Another former Silva player linked is the young Brazilian, Richarlison. Now, with Watford still upset with the whole ‘Silva scenario’, this one seems to be a bit of a stretch. However it is still something worth considering.
Richarlison is an attacking midfielder who’s style would be complimented by an accurate passer such as Carvalho. Richarlison can score but also set up the likes of Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front.
At 21 years old, Richarlison is still growing and could be a great investment into the present and future.

However, Everton do seem to be a bit ‘heavy’ in the midfield and would benefit from investment in other areas of the pitch. Also according to the Mirror, Watford are putting their foot down saying:
"“(We) will not entertain bids under £40million for the Brazilian winger, and will not sell to Everton at any price”. – Mirror"
This clear message shows relations between the Hornets and the Blues could be boiling for some time.
It still doesn’t change the fact that a Carvalho/Richarlison partnership would be exciting. A style opposite of what Everton settled for this past year.
Identity Change Needed
This seem like an exciting time to be a Blue. With a young, hungry and creative manager, a proven Director of Football in Brands and a squad in need of an identity change, rumours will continue to be the talk of Mersyside.

If the Blues are able to land Carvalho, it would be the first step in the right direction. Then perhaps Everton can mend fences with Watford in order to create a powerful partnership between Carvalho and Richarlison.
