As the dust settles on the first Silva/Brands press conference, rumours of incoming players have gained pace.  But for every new player linked, there needs to be a player exiting Everton as well.  Lets have a look at the house keeping rumours thus far.

Lets first look at some possible incoming transfers for Everton.

The defensive midfielder William Carvalho has been linked to Goodison.  Silva has worked with Carvalho in the past and this could prove to be an intelligent signing.

The Northern Echo is reporting that Everton lead the chase to land defender Jamaal Laascelles.  The 24-year-old Newcastle captain would be a welcome addition to our aging defence as we’ve previously mentioned.

Davy Klaassen could be another departure from Goodison.  According to SkySports, Klaassen is wanted by Turkish club Besiktas.

This has been met with mixed emotions as many Evertonian’s believe Klaassen deserves a chance to fight for his Goodison future this year.

These seem to be the names gracing the headlines for departures thus far. But what about the likes of Ashley Williams, Sandro Ramirez, Cuco Martina, Kevin Mirallas?

Well Williams had an unfortunate injury while on duty for Wales and is currently recovering.  Ramirez wants to continue his career in Spain. Not much news to report on Martina and as far as Mirallas is concerned, it looks like his time at Everton will be coming to an end.

Don’t forget that Silva and Brands also need to evaluate many others. Mohammed Basic has made a case to remain a Blue after a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough.

Cult hero Omar Niasse could also be on the move, with a potential bid by Cardiff City and speedy youngster Ademola Lookman is being courted by RB Leipzig.  Ramiro Funes-Mori will have to impress or his days could be numbered as well.

Finally, do Silva and Brands dare address the elephant in the room?  What to do with the likes of Phil Jagielka, James McCarthy and Leighton Bains?  Is it time to change the ‘old guard’?

Busy Times Ahead

Marco Silva and Marcel Brands will have to work quickly in order to revamp the Everton squad.  With the World Cup and a shortened transfer window, time is of the essence.
