Could Aaron Mooy be an Everton target?

Yet more transfer rumours are doing the rounds involving Everton this time linking the club with Huddersfield Town player Aaron Mooy.

Mooy has been enjoying a good World Cup and an Australian website is stating Everton are one of several Premier League clubs chasing his signature.

The Socceroos are still in with a chance of qualifying for the next round after some resilient performances. And Mooy’s efforts have been key to that competiveness.

The Australian website claims that Everton along with Southampton and West Ham United and several European clubs are all interested in Mooy. They are saying Huddersfield will likely ask for around £18 million for Mooy.

Of course with the World Cup in progress there are bound to be many players’ agents who are pushing for their client to move on to bigger and better things.

The Huddersfield midfielder also had a fine campaign with the Yorkshire club as they avoided, (although only just), relegation.

His performances were not spectacular but he still often stood out in a very workmanlike team.

Mooy is a fine passer of the ball with an excellent completion success rate and he also has good set-piece delivery.

In addition Mooy is strong defensively, although as we’ve said before the Blues have plenty of those types of players already.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

The Australian is certainly a decent mid-table Premier League player. But I don’t think he has shown anything to suggest he is capable of making enough of a difference to a team like Everton competing for a top six place.

Finally we return to a long-standing and recurrent rumour.

The Mirror are claiming the Blues are going to move for both Jack Wilshire and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Wilshire’s arrival has been talked about for several months while this is the first time Loftus-Cheek has been included in such rumours.

Next: Blues to go for new striker?

We’ve recently spoken of him as a good option for the Blues. Of the two I’d prefer to see Loftus-Cheek come to Goodison as I think he will provide Everton with much needed additional pace, creative skill and versatility.
