Everton are apparently in talks with Ademola Lookman as the player seeks assurances about his future with RB Leipzig still keen to sign him.
The Mirror have claimed that Everton are sitting down with Lookman to try to reassure him he has a part to play in new manager Marco Silva’s plans.
Lookman was an £11 million signing by Ronald Koeman in 2017. However he only had limited chances in the first-team, despite scoring on his debut. So he left the Blues in January in search of first-team football after then boss Sam Allardyce signed Theo Walcott.
He had a fine half-season with German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. He managed to score 5 goals and contribute 3 assists for Leipzig.
The paper is claiming Lookman is keen to leave as he doesn’t believe he will get enough of a chance at Everton. The club is trying to reassure him he’s not one of those players Marcel Brands and Silva are looking to move on and that he will play a significant part in next season’s team.
As we’ve said before losing Lookman would be a bad outcome for the club. He is certainly a player the Blues should do everything possible to retain.

The Toffees are not exactly well stocked with players of his type; a forward with pace, creativity and a goal threat. Lookman would also give Everton another attacking option that might save the club considerable money on recruiting another such player.
Will we still see him in a royal blue shirt next season?
In other transfer news the same paper again claims today that the Toffees are now looking at the Celtic and Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney as a replacement for Leighton Baines.
Tierney has only recently signed a new long-term contract with the Scottish champions so Everton would have to put some serious cash on the table to have any hope of prising him away.

Anyway this seems like yet another fairly unlikely deal. I think Tierney will wait for a club in the Champions League places to come for him before he moves on.
