Today the Mirror are running a story that Everton manager Marco Silva has a wish-list of three key attacking players he wants to sign.
Those players on the Everton boss’s lists are Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck, Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha and Watford’s Brazilian youngster Richarlison.
All three of these forwards have been rumoured before as possible Blues signings. And we’ve mentioned them on this site as players who could offer the Toffees greater attacking options.
It seems that maybe Blues manager Marco Silva is reading what we say!
Of the three, Welbeck looks the most realistic. As we wrote just a few days ago Arsenal are looking to trim their squad and Welbeck is likely to be a casualty of that process.
If he’s released by the Gunners he would likely come on a free transfer and that would save Everton some considerable expense.
Zaha is a much more difficult one. The Mirror are claiming Palace would want at least around £60 million for the Ivory Coast international. Such a figure would probably price the Blues out of a move for him.
The Palace winger would be a great signing for the Toffees given his qualities. His pace, creative skill and goal threat would be very welcome.

Richarlison’s potential transfer is complicated by the very difficult relationship between the Toffees and Watford. The Vicarage Road club don’t want to do much business with the Blues following Everton’s failed pursuit of Silva last season.
As Hornets’ boss, Silva signed Richarlison and wants his talent now at Goodison Park.
Again this one seems unlikely at the moment although you can never be sure in football.
If Richarlison is determined to re-join his former manager then it might still happen.

After a summer of so many rumours and possible signings that then go away to be replaced by another set of stories, it does seem increasingly important for the Blues to get some of these touted deals over the line.
