After a few very quite weeks as far as transfer rumours are concerned, Everton are being linked with a move for Lyon and France midfielder Tanguy NDombele.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Everton have run the rule over the youngster following some impressive performances for Lyon recently.
In particular when Lyon beat against Premier League leaders Manchester City in a recent Champions League match at the Etihad back in September.
The 21-year-old is the latest promising midfielder to emerge from France on what seems to be an endless production line of talent across the channel.
NDombele is a powerful, driving and creative midfield player who would certainly add more quality options for Marco Silva in the centre of the team. And in fact he’s a similar type of player to Liverpool’s Naby Kieta.
The Echo claim that the Frenchman could cost Everton upwards of £40 million if the Blues decided to make a move for him.
That might seem an awful lot of money for such a young footballer but in truth it’s about the market average for these kinds of players.
The fact that Everton are being linked with highly-rated young talent like this is also further evidence of the ambition that the club are showing under the leadership of Silva and Marcel Brands.
In other transfer-related news, it’s clear that Silva is determined to try to hold onto Andre Gomes after his loan spell finishes in the summer.

Gomes has been outstanding since he made his debut for the Blues and the Portuguese midfielder has already become a firm favourite amongst the Everton faithful.
The club is hoping that they can persuade Barcelona to make that loan move permanent at the end of the current season.
I’m sure that many Evertonians will hope Silva can be successful in his ambition and that Gomes does indeed become a full-time Toffees player.
If the Blues are to be successful and win trophies again they will need to continue to strengthen their squad and be able to attract and keep hold of players of the highest calibre.
