Tyias Browning set to leave club this January, Reportedly to China
By Jack Coleman
Twenty-four year old Everton defender, Tyias Browning, is rumoured to be leaving the club this January either on loan or in a permanent move. Sources say that the Englishman could be heading to China.
Under 23s Everton manager, David Unsworth, has confirmed that he has something in mind for Everton defender, Tyias Browning. He was quoted as saying the following:
"I’m hopeful. Hopeful of Tyias, he might have something very soon to announce.Certainly hopefully, Tyias, in the next 24-48 hours we might have something to announce."
Everton under 23s have been playing incredibly well under Unsworth, most recently defeating Chelsea’s under 23s 2-0 with goals from Fraser Hornby and Bassala Sambou. However, Tyias Browning did not feature in this victory where Unsworth had the above to say.
There clearly is no place for Browning in Silva’s first time either, only being named in the squad once this season, in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield in September. This was before Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina had been integrated into the squad making it unlikely that Browning will find himself in the squad again now that the Blues have settled in their new defenders.
The defender has been with Everton since he was ten and enjoyed loan spells at Preston, Wigan and most recently, Sunderland. His time at Sunderland last season proved unfortunate as he didn’t play as often as he would have liked and unfortunately was inflicted with a groin injury which cut his loan with the Black Cats short in March.
It’s unclear if Unsworth is hinting at a loan deal or a permanent move for Browning but it doesn’t seem like he is in Everton’s plans for the foreseeable future so perhaps it may be time that he left the club for the sake of his career.

Alan Myers of Sky Sports has reported that Tyias is moving to an unnamed Chinese club in the next few hours. Again, it is unclear if this is a loan move or a permanent one. Interestingly, Browning qualifies to play for the Chinese national team through his grandfather which is certainly an option if he wants to play international football as he likely won’t be playing for England any time soon.
Browning is only on the periphery of Everton at the moment so it won’t be much of a loss to the team though it is always sad to see a local boy leave. Wherever he ends up, we wish Tyias the best of luck in the rest of his career. We’ll keep you updated on the situation.
