So another day rolls around and Everton are again being associated in the European media with a young Argentinian footballer.

This time it’s a striker called Adolfo Gaich who is being linked with Everton and again it’s in the Spanish website marca.com. The website appears to be claiming that the Blues have some interest in the young forward and are tracking him.

Well I don’t anything much about him, I doubt many people in England do. But it does seem to be fairly consistent with the kind of young players from South America that the Toffees are regularly being linked with signing or at least taking a look at.

Blues Director of Football Marcel Brands has a long-established reputation for searching out and finding raw talent in that football-mad continent and brining it over to Europe. I would imagine that a player like Gaich is likely one of them he’s tracking.

In other news it’s confirmed that Blues right-back Jon-jo Kenny is to go out on loan at Schalke in Germany next season.

This was a move that has been rumoured for a while and it seems to make a lot of sense for the player and for Everton too. Kenny has some talent but he’s been pretty inconsistent whenever he’s started for the Blues in the last campaign.

Kenny also isn’t likely to get too many games next season at Goodison Park especially if the Toffees do sign another right-back.

So it would be better for the youngster to go abroad and get some more top-flight experience in a European league.

And he’ll be joining another English player who has of course made a real success of his stint in the Bundesliga, Jadon Sancho. Perhaps Kenny can develop further and be ready for a return to the Premier League a better and more confident player.

The Bundesliga has become a regular stomping ground for teenage English footballers. And Everton’s Ademola Lookman spent a productive half a season at RB Leipzeg last term.

Let’s hope that Kenny can make the most of his opportunity in Germany and take the next step up in his career.
