While we still wait for what seems the surely inevitable sacking of Marco Silva, there are stories today that the Everton board will give him two more games before deciding on a successor.

The Daily Mail, claim the Everton hierarchy will wait until possibly as late as the Merseyside derby on the 4th of December, before pulling the trigger on Silva and bringing in a replacement.

If true this is immensely frustrating news, but to be honest hardly surprising. It sometimes seems that there is nothing Silva can do that will get him sacked!

Why are the board still procrastinating when the urgency of getting this done as quickly as possible and putting Silva out of his agony, is surely overwhelming?

I am genuinely terrified of the prospect of this Blues team under this manager, taking the pitch at Anfield against a Liverpool side in their current form and with so much self-confidence.

We’ve had some horrible days at that ground in recent seasons, and this game could be one of the worst. I’ve seen too many heavy derby defeats to that lot, I’m not sure I can stomach another one.

What the board need to do is act, and act now!! Silva can’t possibly survive this situation and for the good of the club, the players and for him too, this needs to be done quickly.

Everton must have a shortlist already drawn up, (I discussed some of those possible candidates yesterday), and have had three further days to mull over their options and the merits of these individuals. Yet it seems they still haven’t reached a conclusion.

What is the point of postponing this decision for more than another week? If the Toffees are beaten at Leicester City and then by Liverpool, they could well be stuck in the relegation zone.

If that’s the case, it would make the job of replacing Silva even less appealing to anyone being touted to take over the Goodison Park hot seat.

In other slightly bizarre news, while all this is going on, Silva and Director of Football, Marcel Brands have apparently been discussing the situation of third choice goalkeeper Joao Christian, who is currently on loan at Reading.

Surely a decision on the loan move of a reserve keeper can wait until the situation of his manager at Everton has been sorted out!! I sometimes think this club is genuinely losing the plot!
