Although the January transfer window has ended, there still continue to be plenty of rumours surrounding players Everton might be looking at or considering moving for when the summer comes round.

One of those players is the Turkish midfielder Ozan Tufan. Everton, according to a story in the Liverpool Echo, are looking closely at the 24-year-old with a view to moving for him in the summer transfer window.

Tufan is at Fernabache but is apparently keen to move on at the end of the current season. His agent is talking about Tufan having a £20 million release clause in his contract, which might make him a lot more affordable than some of the other prospects being touted for a move to Everton.

The Turkish international player is according to whoscored.com, defensively strong and versatile and can play both in the centre of midfield or in a wider position.

His best position statistically seems to be operating on the right-wing, an area of the current Blues team where there is definitely a need for strengthening.

There’s also another reason why Tufan might be worth considering. The news from Everton is that the club hierarchy are considering making Djibril Sidibe’s loan move permanent.

If such a deal happened then given the fact that he is primarily an attacking player, I think the Toffees might want to consider ensuring they had a player in front of him to balance that out.

Sidibe is a great player bombing down the line putting in excellent balls and crosses. A right-sided midfielder able to drop back and provide that effective defensive cover would make sense.

In other related transfer news, one of the other right-sided attacking players the Toffees were linked with in January, Jeremie Boga, is unlikely to be available in the summer.

His parent club, Chelsea, are reportedly in the front of the queue to re-sign him as they have a buy-back clause to do so.

Anyway these rumours are all just that of course. There is plenty of time left before the summer transfer window opens and no doubt Everton will be associated with transfer moves for a lot of players before then.
