Since the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, the master tactician has made several changes to the team in terms of style and shape.

The 4-4-2 formation is predominant with two strikers up front. There are plenty of players who don’t fit the style and are deemed as surplus to requirements. These players need to be offloaded in the upcoming transfer window for generating extra funds and freeing up places in the squad.

1.      Cenk Tosun

The Turkish striker signed for Everton in 2018 and since then has made 51 appearances for the Toffees. However, he has failed to impress at Goodison Park, registering only ten goals and six assists, a poor return for a striker of his calibre. The 2019-20 season yielded worse results as he only scored a solitary goal in five appearances. His lack of goalscoring saw him lose his place to Dominic Calvert Lewin and Richarlison.

Ancelotti assumed the managerial charge at Everton in December 2019 and was quick to discard the former Besiktas striker, giving Richarlison and Calvert Lewin the nod ahead of Tosun. With the duo firing at all cylinders they scored a combined 12 goals under Carlo Ancelotti. Cenk Tosun was sent out on loan at Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season. With Moise Kean acting as a deputy for Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, Tosun might have already lived his last days as an Everton player.

In reality, he has hardly done anything to convince the Toffees hierarchy to continue with him nor has he been successful in giving Ancelotti any assurances about his abilities. With the striker position already stacked with young and blazing players, it just makes sense to sell Cenk Tosun in the upcoming transfer window.
