Everton wants to sign Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe permanently who is currently on loan at Goodison Park.
Everton acquired Djibril Sidibe on loan last year for a loan fee of €2.5 million. Monaco right back was always touted to play in the Premier League and the Toffees gave him the opportunity to make himself known in the Premier League circuit.
Since his arrival at Goodsion Park, Sidibe has proved to be one of the best performers in the team. He has assisted 5 goals and has quickly adjusted to the team’s demands and requirements. Seamus Coleman has been the obvious choice at right back but Sidibe has put in a wonderful shift further ahead on the right side in the wide right midfield position.
Theo Walcott was doing an underwhelming job and that is when Carlo Ancelotti played his trump card of playing Djibril Sidibe on the right flank ahead of Coleman. The extra attacking freedom allowed Sidibe to occupy dangerous positions and remain a constant threat on the right side. To Everton’s advantage, he was miles ahead of Walcott when it came to performing his defensive duties.
The club board is fully convinced that the Frenchman can be one of the most important pieces in Ancelotti’s system and want to sign him permanently. Monaco and Everton have an understanding where Sidibe’s switch to Finch Farm can be made permanent for €14 million.

According to L’Equipe, Everton is clear on their stance to sign the France international but they are waiting to see if the Ligue 1 club is willing to lower their asking price. Sidibe still has two years left on his contract at Stade Louis II putting Monaco in a stronger position to call the shots.
Les Monegasques have adopted the philosophy of being a selling club and very seldom do they lower their asking price for one of their stars. However, considering that there are no other suitors for Sidibe in the market, they might be forced to reconsider their asking price.
As for the Toffees, Djibril Sidibe has demonstrated his potential and gives good evidence of why he could be beneficial to the club project. Everton want to wrap up Sidibe’s signing but are not ready to shell out as much as €14 million for the 27 year old right back.
