A roundup of the latest weekend Everton transfer rumours as we get ready for the restart of the Premier League on Wednesday.
As we have regularly outlined, Everton are being relentlessly associated with a succession of players by the media hungry for any possible stories in this time.
This feverish speculation is only going to increase as football finally returns and a summer transfer window of some kind, looms.
Today as the weekend winds down, the Toffees are linked with a young central defender in Turkey and a Premier League midfielder, who has not been able to nail down a starting place at his club.
The defender is Christian Luyindama, who is currently at Galatasaray and who has been connected with a move to the Blues before.
This latest story comes from another of these online media outlets called tribalfootball.com. They claim that Everton are one of several English clubs actively pursuing the player.
Luyindama is a powerful central defender who represents the DR Congo internationally. He has become a well-regarded defender in Turkey, who now looks ready for a move to a bigger league.
He is strong defensively and is a fine passer of the ball from the back. Although he has these qualities, he also has some issues with concentration according to Whoscored.com and another defender with a penchant for losing focus doesn’t sound exactly appealing.
It’s likely he would be available for an affordable fee, especially in these uncertain and difficult times so that could be a consideration.
The other player I wanted to focus on is a midfielder called Andreas Pereira, who is currently in England, on Manchester United’s books.
Pereira hasn’t made much of an impact at Old Trafford recently and it appears that United are willing to listen to offers for him later in the summer.

The 24-year-old has some strengths and plenty of weaknesses according to Whoscored.com anyway. By the look of it, he brings some qualities but quite a few issues as well that might impact on how effective a player he will be.
He does seem to be a good ball-winner with the ability to play a crucial pass or two and so could contribute some additional creativity to the Blues often stuttering attack.
To be honest though you have to wonder why Pereira has been unable to find a place in a Manchester United team that isn’t exactly overflowing with midfield options and in which so many players have struggled to perform!
Well two more candidates in the never ending merry-go-round that is the Everton transfer rumour mill. Do you think either of these players are worth the Blues considering?
