Everton can go ahead and sign Dani Ceballos if N’Golo Kante moves to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid, one of the biggest powerhouses of European football, are keeping tabs on N’Golo Kante and his situation at Chelsea. Frank Lampard has been given huge monetary boosts to sign top players and the Chelsea legend has expressed his desire to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United. Rice is one of the top young central midfielders in the game and is also rumoured of wanting to switch to a bigger team. All omens point to Chelsea making a move for signing the 21 year old central defensive midfielder.

That leaves N’Golo Kante in a very interesting situation. He has had a few issues recently with his injury which has forced Lampard to use him less often. Kante has his contract at Stamford Bridge till summer 2023 but the word is on the street that Chelsea will allow the Frenchman to leave for £70 million. PSG and Real Madrid both have been in the mix to sign the 29 year old. Los Blancos are in a better position to sign Kante compared to PSG. So, if Real sign Kante, they’ll be looking to sell a midfielder to make room for the new signing. It is very likely that Dani Ceballos may face the axe. Everton must be attentive and try and sign the talented midfielder.

Dani Ceballos currently is on loan at Arsenal and the Real Madrid loanee has had a terrible time at Emirates Stadium. Many have even deemed him as a Premier League flop. So, why should Everton be betting their money for a player who has not been able to prove himself in England?

The player is terrific at his feet and can occupy any of the midfield berths. Left midfield, right midfield, central defensive midfield and also play as a No.10. He can operate on either side of the double pivot as well. This kind of versatility is a delightful addition to the team.

Ceballos is the perfect player that Everton needs. He is one of the best ball carriers around, a player you would like to trust to drive from midfield into the final third. One of the prime reasons he struggled at Arsenal is because he doesn’t use his physicality. The 23 year old was never known to be a physical midfielder. From his days at Real Betis he has purely excelled due to his on the ball skills. Premier League is physical, sometimes animal but there are living examples that you can thrive in the league with skills and less physicality. David Silva is the biggest example.

His time at Gunners was also hampered by the torn muscle bundle injury which never allowed him to settle at Arsenal. But for all the above reasons, Carlo Ancelotti must take the risk and ask the Everton board to make this signing. In Ceballos, he gets a supremely talented midfielder and overall an excellent passer which the Everton midfield has been lacking for quite some time. Their midfield is imbalanced but the signing of Dani Ceballos can improve their mid immediately.
