Everton ahead of Manchester United in pursuit of out of favour Napoli star
Everton can offer Hirving Lozano an escape route after the Mexican has fallen out of favor under Gennaro Gattuso but face competition from Manchester United.
According to Daily Mail, Hirving Lozano finds himself in serious trouble after being removed from training by Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso. The Italian manager has accused the Mexican winger of not being committed during the training sessions. Gattuso has never been open to giving Lozano an important squad role, in fact ever since the Italian’s arrival in December at Stadio San Paolo, the winger has only featured six times playing a total of 135 minutes.
The Napoli coach removed him from training for showing “lack of commitment” and “being unwilling”. The Mexican has completely fallen out of favour under Gattuso, making his life more difficult in Naples. The 24 year old had a tough start to life in Italy after moving from PSV but started to find his footing under Carlo Ancelotti during the late first half of the season. However, Ancelotti was sacked by the Neapolitan club in December and Gattuso replaced him at the helm.

With Hirving Lozano having no support of Gennaro Gattuso, it will be ideal for club president Aurelio de Laurentiis to cash in on the young forward in the summer transfer window. Ancelotti has admitted in the past that he is a huge fan of Lozano’s talent and has been always approved of having the Mexican at Everton.
It was reported that Napoli were in no rush to sell the former PSV player but with dynamics changing between the coach and the player, Napoli will be open to selling the star. Everton and Manchester United are touted as the wanted parties but the Toffees could pip Manchester United to the signing because of the X-factor in the name of Ancelotti.
Carlo Ancelotti in many ways can act as a big persuasive factor whether it’s the signing of the veteran Thiago Silva or the speedster Hirving Lozano. Everton are in dire need of a right winger and the Mexico international can do a fantastic job. Theo Walcott has been underwhelming with the Toffees ready to let him go in the summer. Lozano should be one of the top choices on Everton’s list because he has plenty to offer and being just 24, he is yet to enter his prime. However, the discipline issues he has had at Napoli may force Marcel Brands to hesitate from advancing but under Ancelotti’s tutelage, Lozano can be drilled to be a good boy.
Should the Toffees sign Hirving Lozano?
