We take a look at combined eleven from Liverpool and Everton as both the teams prepare for the Merseyside derby showdown.

Liverpool are cruising towards their first ever Premier League title whereas Everton are having another rebuilding season. They have just started to find their feet under Carlo Ancelotti but are still miles behind their neighbours Liverpool. The blue side of Merseyside can’t stop the inevitable i.e Liverpool winning the league but they can at least delay it preventing a Liverpool win at Goodison.

The Merseyside derby is set to be played on June 21 and we at Prince Rupert’s Tower decided to form a Merseyside derby combined eleven. In reality, Liverpool are way better than anyone else at the moment and the Toffees cannot match the Reds’ quality on paper. However, as uncertain as the game of football is, no one can predict what happens on the field. The formation we are going with is a 4-2-2-2.

Goalkeeper: Alisson

Liverpool’s Alisson is the best shotstopper in the league if not the best keeper in the world. Jordan Pickford is simply no match to the Brazilian. Alisson had missed a few games before the pandemic but is no fully fit and is in the lead for the Golden glove with 12 clean sheets in 20 games. Pickford on the other hand has had a terrible season, conceded 46 goals in 29 games. Alisson is the best choice to go with without a doubt. The former Roma keeper outclasses the Englishman in all aspects, not only in terms of statistics but also in terms of quality and ability.
