Everton’s bid for Ancelotti’s favorite star falls short of valuation
Everton’s bid for midfielder Allan has fallen short of Napoli’s expectations.
Napoli midfielder Allan has been linked to Everton for months with reports also suggesting that Carlo Ancelotti even personally contacted the Brazilian. The 29 year old is open to a switch to Everton and is keen to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti.
As per reports from Italian media, the Toffees launched the first offer for Allan, submitting a bid of €30 million. However, as per Tutto MercatoWeb, the bid by Marcel Brands is falling short of the valuation by Gli Azzuri.
Over one year ago PSG were left shell shocked when Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis demanded €100 million for the Brazilian. Even though the Parisians were open to pay upwards of €50 million, this kind of money will never arrive for Allan, especially in the pandemic and post pandemic era.
The worth of the 29 year old has heavily degraded which has forced the Naples side to soften their asking price. Despite the Toffees bidding €30 million, the Serie A giants are holding on €40 million.
However, the report also suggested that Napoli may agree to reach a middle ground at around €35-€36 million. So in order to sign the former Udinese player, Everton will have to shell out €5 million more. Also, taking into consideration Allan’s wages which will be nothing less than €6 million a year, this could be a very costly transfer in today’s day and age.

However, Allan is one of the players that Ancelotti desperately wants at Goodison Park and it might not be surprising to see Everton making an improved second bid. While a move for Adrien Rabiot seems distant as of now as Juventus Director Fabio Paratici poured cold water on the hopes of signing the Frenchman, Allan may remain Toffees’ best possible option.
However, the report also hinted that the player will like to wait and see if mega clubs like Juventus or Atletico Madrid come to enquire about his services. None of the mentioned clubs are likely to seriously consider a move for Allan but Everton’s intentions are very clear. Now it’s only about reaching a proper agreement with Napoli in terms of transfer fees.
Should the Toffees pay €35 million for Allan?
