Everton may think of acquiring Daniel James on loan from Manchester United if Jadon Sancho arrives at Old Trafford.

Fortunately, we aren’t talking about Manchester United player Jesse Lingard’s link to Everton. Let’s hope that this transfer never happens. However, there is one transfer that could turn into reality and that is of Daniel James to Everton on a loan deal if the Red Devils sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The rumours of Sancho to United have been gaining momentum day by day and it looks just a matter of time before the transfer takes place. There is an obvious disagreement over the fees with United offering £50 million whereas Dortmund are holding out on their asking price of £120 million for the English sensation.

If Jadon Sancho does arrive at Old Trafford, United will have to free up space for the time being. Perhaps loaning one of their forwards will not only make room for Sancho but also generate some funds for the deal.

Daniel James might be the player who could be loaned and Everton must try and snap up the Welshman. Even though his agent has stated that he won’t leave Manchester United but this is football and nothing is set in stone. Things change in a matter of hours and we have an entire summer transfer window ahead of us.

Something worth noting is that Dan James hasn’t been a regular player since the restart. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has preferred Mason Greenwood over the 22 year old winger, restricting James to only 99 minutes of football out of a possible 360 minutes.

Everton can be a solid chance for James as well to further solidify himself as a top player in English football. The Toffees are desperate to make amends on the right flank. Acquiring a skilful player like James on loan could be a stop-gap solution. In today’s day and age where the Corona Virus pandemic has curtailed club finances, loan deals could be the norm for next couple of transfer windows.

The Merseysiders also need to strengthen the defence and midfield so signing new players in attack, defence and midfield look a bit unrealistic for this window. So, Daniel James on loan could actually make sense.

The Welsh starlet is one of the fastest players in the league and is simply a counter attacking devastation. His blistering pace allows him to exploit gaps left by the opposition and makes him a blessing to have during counter attacks. His cruise control of the ball and demonic pace will suit Everton’s system.

At Everton he will be a regular starter and can further enhance his stats and skills, making him a contender for being one of the best players in England. He would return to United at some point of time, perhaps when Alexis Sanchez has left or even Odion Ighalo has left, leaving behind a space to fill by James.
