Sassuolo Sporting director rules out a move for Everton target Jeremie Boga.

Everton’s lack of options at the wings was once again brutally exposed against Southampton as Alex Iwobi failed to influence the game in any manner. Even Bernard wasn’t productive in any manner failing to create anything in the last 15 minutes.

This just solidifies the notion about an overhaul being required if Everton is to challenge the top six or the top eight in near future. Not only wings but defence and midfield also require attention.

The names of Hirving Lozano and Cengiz Under have been circulating continuously but there are other players who have been linked as well. One such name is of Jeremie Boga of Sassuolo. Goal reported some time ago that Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a track of Boga at the Mapei Stadium.

The Ivorian has been in fine form ever since his transfer from Chelsea to Italy. This season has somewhat seen Jeremie Boga transform into one of the most important players at Sassuolo, contributing 11 goals and 4 assists in 30 Serie A games. The Serie A sensation has formed a lethal trident with Francesco Caputo and Dominico Berardi, with the trio scoring a combined 38 goals among them.

Frank Lampard’s Chelsea did insert a €15 million buy back clause but have decided not to exercise it, opening a door of possibilities. However, that door has been shut by Sassuolo Sporting director Giovanni Carneveli.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Carneveli has refused to cash in on Boga and termed him as an ‘unsellable’ player. The Sporting director is firm on his stance of not selling any of the emerging players at the club as the team continues their charge in the Serie A.

"The big guys will not leave. It is our desire for the team to improve. How much is Boga worth? I don’t ask myself that question for the simple fact that we don’t want to sell him. I declare him officially unsellable. Next season, he will stay at Sassuolo. (via Rai)"

This would be a bit of a blow for Everton. With no progress being made in the case Under and Lozano, Jeremie Boga could have been a viable back up plan. He never got a proper chance to prove his worth in the Top Flight at Chelsea, but with Toffees, he could have shown the world what he is capable of.
