Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder remains interested in Everton outcast Muhamed Besic.

Everton loaned Muhamed Besic to newly promoted Sheffield United at the start of the season. During his time at Bramall Lane, he became an admired player by the Sheffield faithful and ever since the talk of signing him permanently has been surfacing from one news media outlet to another.

Chris Wilder too was full of praise for the Bosnian. Sadly, Besic returned to Everton after his loan deal expired on May 31 but recent events suggest that an exit could be on the cards and Chris Wilder remains keen on bringing him to Sheffield.

The tale of Sheffield United deserves to be the story of the season. Chris Wilder’s Championship side was early favourites to be relegated but with their perseverance and thrilling tactics, the Blades are in contention of European football. The manager has a Connoisseur eye for highly rated footballers and Muhamed Besic may be the man Wilder has been craving.

According to Liverpool Echo, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has informed the central defensive midfielder that he doesn’t have a future at Goodison Park and is free to sort his future elsewhere. While this will be a shock to many, Chris Wilder may be a happy man hearing this news.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

Despite Muhamed Besic being restricted to a handful of appearances at Sheffield United, the Bramall Lane faithful are convinced that he can play an important role in the team should he make a switch.

The 27 year old hasn’t had a memorable time at Goodison Park. After moving to England in 2014, he managed to stay at Finch Farm for 4 years registering sporadic appearances, before eventually being loaned out to Middlesbrough for two years.

Once his loan spell ended with the Boro, he was loaned to Sheffield in summer of 2019. 56  appearances for the Blues since 2014 state how unwanted he has always been to a string of Everton managers.

Sheffield United and Chris Wilder may have plans for the Bosnian. However, he won’t be a crucial player in the squad so it is now up to Muhamed Besic whether to accept a substitute role and move to Sheffield United or look for a future elsewhere.

Where will Muhamed Besic end up post the summer transfer window?
