Everton could sign Ola Aina and Salvatore Sirigu from Torino in the summer transfer window.

Everton were linked to former Chelsea player Ola Aina who is doing a fine job in Serie A and is rumoured to be considering a move back to the Premier League. The Toffees were interested in bringing him to Goodison Park as a successor to Seamus Coleman. A few days ago, Torino goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu was also on the wish list of Carlo Ancelotti. Interest in two Torino players may result in a double swoop over the summer.

Seamus Coleman is reaching the twilight of his career and needs to be replaced soon. In fact, the Toffees need to find a player who can compete with Coleman for the starting spot. The loan spell of Djibril Sidibe is set to end and Marcel Brands is unwilling to pay £12 million for the French star, leaving options open for a new right back.

Jonjoe Kenny isn’t a trusted option and will likely be sold or be used as a part of a deal. The Merseysiders have been assessing their options at right back and a number of names have been listed. Diogo Dalot and Kenny Tete were the latest names associated but before them, Ola Aina was discussed in the Everton offices, as per Calciomercato.

The 23 year old moved to Italy after failing to break into the Chelsea eleven and since then has shown tremendous signs of progress at Torino. Aina has been equally adept in defence and attack, something you expect from a modern full back.

In fact, he has developed his game in such style that he can slot on either flank as a full back. La Granata have had a miserable defensive record shipping 62 goals but a silver lining has been the Nigerian’s performances. Available for a mere £9 million, the club hierarchy will seriously consider Ola Aina as a strong option for the right back spot.

Calciomercato also reported that Everton have asked Torino about the possibility of signing Salvatore Sirigu. The goalkeeper is contracted till the summer of 2022 but after a recent tussle with the Italian club hierarchy, the player may be on the move with Napoli and Everton the interested parties.

Carlo Ancelotti knows Sirigu from his PSG days as the Italian shot stopper spent six years at Parc des Princes. The 33 year old moved to Turin in 2017 on a free transfer and since then has been the No.1 between the sticks. However, the Toffees seem to be hopeful of taking advantage of Sirigu’s situation with his club board and sign him in the summer.

The 33 year old is one of the most experienced keepers out there and can act as a deputy keeper or also challenge Jordan Pickford for the No.1 role. The Englishman has struggled recently but with no stern competition within the team, Pickford has been alleged to be complacent at times.

Salvatore Sirigu may also be keen to add the triumph of playing in the Premier League and may be open to a move. A double Torino swoop can well be on the cards with both the players available for a fairly reasonable price compared to other targets.
