Max Aarons and Jefferson Lerma can improve Everton massively.

2. Max Aarons

Everton have an interesting right back conundrum blooming. Seamus Coleman is on the wrong side of thirty and will need to be replaced soon. Jonjoe Kenny was sent out on loan at Schalke where he developed under the wing of David Wagner and impressed the Everton board as well.

However, there are no guarantees that the Englishman will stay at Goodison Park. He may be sold to generate cash, he may be used as a part of a deal or maybe sent out on loan again, leaving the Toffees without many choices at right back. Djibril Sidibe returned to Monaco and the Merseysiders aren’t looking to pay £12 million for his services.

In such situation, signing Max Aarons could be like hitting the bulls eye. The 20 year old has been terrific for Norwich City, proving that he has the aptitude to succeed in the Premier League. There are other teams rumored to be chasing Aarons as well but if Marcel Brands can play his cards right and sign the right back, it will be a huge coup.

3. Jefferson Lerma

The AFC Bournemouth central defensive midfielder was with the Cherries since 2018 and became a mainstay in Eddie Howe’s midfield. Jefferson Lerma was a club record signing for Bournemouth but now they may have to part ways with him for much less than £25 million (what they paid for him in 2018).

The price drop is not because his quality has dropped, in fact it has catapulted in the last couple of years but the coronavirus pandemic has affected the football transfer markets and recouping £25 million won’t be an easy task.

The Colombian is a perfect midfield anchor Everton are looking for. Lerma can replicate the job of Idrissa Gueye should he be signed this summer by Everton.
