Everton are in the market for a new right-back and names like Diogo Dalot and Max Aarons are possible targets.

Everton are tackling a different situation at the right back position. There are a couple of questions that need to be answered. Seamus Coleman is nearing the end of his football cycle and will need to be replaced in a few years’ time. Who takes over from him as the first choice right back? The second question being till the time the Irishman is a first choice selection who acts as his back up?

Jonjoe Kenny spent a year at Schalke 04 and massively developed under the wing of David Wagner. However, his future at Goodison Park remains up in the air as whispers are that he may be sold to generate funds or used as a part in a deal. This leaves Everton in search of a new right back.

Plenty of names have been associated with the Toffees. We take a look at the five realistic targets for the right back position who can not only serve to be as a back up but also take over from Coleman in the future.

1. Diogo Dalot

The Manchetser United outcast Diogo Dalot is one of the strongest options for Everton. The supremely talented full back is seen counting the number of seats at Old Trafford when Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues his to display his sparkling form. Dalot’s time at United hasn’t panned out like he would have dreamt when he moved from FC Porto.

Diogo Dalot is not even making the cut at left back. Brandon Williams is preferred over him as an understudy to Luke Shaw. The future of the Portuguese looks bleak in Manchester. Perhaps, Everton can come to his rescue and take him to Merseyside.

Diogo Dalot is young and can operate as a right back and even further forward. If required, the 21 year old can deputize at the left back role as well. Diogo Dalot can act as the back up to Seamus Coleman and eventually take over from him as a starter. A bid in the region of £15 million may interest Manchester United into striking a deal.
