Everton can’t sell Richarlison if they want Champions League football
Richarlison’s good performances have raised eyebrows about possible moves. But, selling the Brazilian talisman would severely hurt Everton’s Champions League chances.
In an interview with Brazilian media, Everton’s leading scorer put shivers down the back of the club management and fans by saying he would be interested in a move.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are relaxed about Richarlison’s future despite the forward giving an interview in Brazil which cast doubt on how long he would stay at Goodison.
The Blues’ top scorer was speaking to Globo Esporte on Monday and said he can “hold on for another season” but if rival clubs made offers he would “sit down and talk”.
Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear he is counting on Richarlison and expecting more from him as well. Telling the Echo, He saw Richarlison as the complete striker and setting him a total of 30 goals for next season, but could hinge on who else Marcel Brands brings in. The midfield issues have been well-documented.
But there’s more to Richarlison’s game than just his goals and they provide additional reasons why the Toffees must keep him. He brings a number of intangibles to a team that has often seemed to lack personality.
In the Athletic, Long-time Everton journalist Greg O’Keefe wrote Richarlison is adored by the loyal fans. He brings a toughness and an attitude to the club as well as his ability.
Richarlison said he turned down opportunities for big money moves to Barcelona and Manchester United, according to The Daily Mirror, Richarlison did say he was honoured by the offer from Barcelona, but indicated he preferred to stay at Everton.

However, that said, he did say if offers’ came in after the upcoming season, he would sit down and talk.
Richarlison wouldn’t go for cheap, but given the farce after selling Romelu Lukaku for 75 million pounds when The Toffees brought in Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen and Wayne Rooney, all who played No, 10. Only Sigurdsson remains and he had a season to forget.
So if the phone rings at the club headquarters and the question is how much for Richarlison?
The answer must be no, he is not for sale. Not if Everton want to contend for Champions’ League spots.
And keeping him depends on who can the Royal Blues bring in to support him.
What do you think? If Toffees were offered silly money for Richarlison would you sell him?
