PSG are willing to sell Idrissa Gueye and Everton may be interested.
A year ago, Idrissa Gueye moved to PSG from Everton for a fee of €30 million. Since then, the Merseysiders have struggled to find someone who can fill in the shoes of Gueye. The Toffees will have a chance to reunite with their revered hero at Goodison Park as Les Parisiens have put the Senegalese midfielder on their transfer list.
The Royal Blues faithful were left shell shocked when their midfield general, Idrissa Gueye, was sold to PSG. To burn salt on their burns, Everton did bring in a replacement in the form of Jean-Philippe Gbamin but the Ivorian spent almost the entire season on the treatment table.
The mediocrity of the midfield is more evident than ever and is highlighted by Carlo Ancelotti himself. The Toffees are missing Idrissa Gueye more than ever. The degradation of quality in the middle of the park has been massive. The Royal Blues have gone from Gueye to Tom Davies within a space of a few months. Taking nothing away from Davies, he simply isn’t good enough to play in central midfield.
Like finding an oasis in the Sahara desert, Evertonians have been given a glimmer of hope as PSG have decided to put Idrissa Gueye on sale. According to Le10 Sport, PSG sporting director Leonardo is open to selling the Senegal international and a transfer can be sanctioned as soon as the Champions League campaign is over.

The odds of Gueye crossing the English Channel and returning to the English Top Flight are extremely high. Even though the report doesn’t mention a possible link to the Merseyside, a reunification cannot be overruled.
Marcel Brands is on the hunt for a central midfielder and who better than Idrissa Gueye who has inhaled the Everton system for years and was precisely the backbone of the midfield. Andre Gomes and Gueye may be the perfect midfield combo that the Toffees can dream of. The 30 year old’s arrival at Goodison means there is no room and need to bring Allan from Napoli, who will likely cost around of €40 million.
Manchester United were recently linked to the 30 year old but the Red Devils are more focused on other areas of the pitch as they work out deals for Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho. Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves are another side that remains keen on Gueye’s services.
Talks of reunification can be reignited now that Everton knows that Idrissa Gueye is surely on the market. While PSG may look to recoup the maximum of €30 million they paid last summer, the economic aftermath of a pandemic will surely bring down the fees.
Will Idrissa Gueye return to Goodison Park?
