Willian to Arsenal is almost a done deal. With his free transfer from Chelsea, Everton should target Reiss Nelson on loan.

Arsenal is ready with a drumroll to welcome Chelsea winger Willian on a free transfer. It is a matter of days before his signing is made official as the Brazilian has already posted a Chelsea farewell message on his social media. With his arrival at Emirates, Gunners may look into loaning one of their bright stars Reiss Nelson and Everton should attempt to make the deal happen.

Arsenal has taken huge steps ever since Mikel Arteta took over the reins at Emirates Stadium. The FA Cup triumph stands out as the best moment of the season. This also lays as a foundation for the next season and if Arsenal is hoping to get into the top six, upgrades will be needed.

Everton is also in a similar position. Under Carlo Ancelotti, every Evertonian hopes of reaching Europe and believes that the Italian can take the Toffees where they belong. Major squad overhaul is required and Marcel Brands is working on possible targets.

Coming back to Arsenal, they have been successful in getting a headline deal done in form of Willian, that too, on a free transfer. The Brazilian’s contract at Stamford Bridge ran till 2020 and now he has decided to change colours and feature in the Arsenal Red instead of Chelsea Blue.

Even if the deal is not yet made official, it is almost done. Willian posted a Thank You message for the Chelsea fans and teammates and confirmed his Chelsea departure, as per the Mirror. Gunners have acquired the services of Willian, with reports via ESPN suggesting he has agreed a three year deal that will see him earn £100,000 in weekly wages.

After Willian’s arrival, Arsenal now boasts the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Alexander Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Riess Nelson in the attack. On the right wing itself, Mikel Arteta has plenty of options to play with.

Nicolas Pepe will remain the first choice and Willian will compete with the Ivorian for the starting spots. This will leave another traditional right winger Reiss Nelson in a spot of bother, Even though Arteta has shown immense faith in youngsters, the 20 year old may be restricted to a few appearances next term.

Arsenal sent him on loan to Hoffenheim in 2018-19 season where he blossomed into a fine winger, scoring 7 goals in the Bundesliga. Reiss Nelson may see a massive reduction in playing time and a loan move can help him gain some experience. A loan move to a Premier League side will work wonders. That is where Everton can come into play.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a right winger and Reiss Nelson looks a decent option. While Arsenal may not be willing to sell, a loan deal can be struck. Ancelotti also wants to upgrade other positions and bolstering all areas in one transfer window may not be possible considering the compromised transfer budgets.

Loan deals may be a stop gap solution but will be enough. While permanent transfers can be made in midfield or defence, a loan deal for Reiss Nelson will offer options on the right wing. Reiss Nelson is an extremely promising player and can do a respectable job on the right flank and Everton must make the case to acquire him on a loan deal from Arsenal.
