We evaluate every squad member of Everton and whether they should be kept, loaned or sold before the next season.

The 2019-20 season was weird in many ways. Marco Silva was sacked after horrible performances and in came 3 time Champions League winner Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian did steady the sinking ship but towards the end of the season it was clear that major surgery will be needed if Everton are to challenge for Europe in upcoming seasons.

Speaking of squad surgery, Marcel Brands has begun establishing communication channels with teams, players and their agents in a bid to bring new faces in the squad. The financial losses due to Corona Virus pandemic will not allow Everton to spend a ridiculous amount of money as before. The Toffees have spent close to £450 million on transfers since Farhad Moshiri took over in 2016.

In order to work with a stringent transfer budget and also ensure top quality players arrive at Goodison Park, some players will need to be sold to generate funds. It is even true that a few players are not at all at the level Everton will want them to be and are deadwood of sorts. Ancelotti will also look to loan some players out who do not feature in his future plans in order to free up places in the squad.

Let’s take a look at which players need to be sold, loaned and which players are definitely required for orchestrating Everton’s leap to the top.
