Everton are searching the transfer market for a right-sided attacker and for me the perfect fit would be Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi.

Berardi ticks all the boxes and I think his signing would represent a huge improvement in attacking quality if he were to join Everton this summer.

The Italian player is exactly what the Blues need to radically improve the creativity and goals the team can expect from midfield.

He’s been one of the key performers in the Sassuolo team this past season alongside another highly-regarded winger, Jeremie Boga.

In 31 games, Berardi notched fourteen goals and made ten assists last season, excellent numbers for a wide man. He usually plays on the right and likes to cut inside onto his favoured left foot, although he can also operate behind the strikers.

This versatility and balance between goalscoring and assists is the perfect combination. He therefore had a hand in 34% of Sassuolo’s goals, which is a great contribution.

He’s also at 26, approaching his peak and would fit with the Toffees transfer strategy as he would almost certainly increase in value over the next few seasons if he made a success of it in England.

One issue would be prising him away from Serie A. He is under contract until 2024 and of course there is always the possibility he might not settle in England and re-produce his form.

This sort of player is exactly what Everton are looking for and he’s a player Carlo Ancelotti would surely know well and be very interested in acquiring.

In addition, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk he’s valued at around £17 million, which represents good value for money and for me better value than for example going back in for the Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

I know we’ve seen almost endless links with a huge variety of players in the past few months and that its taken on an almost feverish dimension with Ancelotti’s arrival, so this is just another name to throw into the pot.

I do think that whoever the club are looking at and hopefully chasing, it’s important that the Blues get moving asap as we’re still waiting for any movement and for any new signings.
