Willian’s move to Arsenal can allow Everton to target Eddie Nketiah on loan.

Arsenal finally announced the signing of Willian, a worst kept secret in the last few weeks now. With his arrival in the Gunners camp, the attack department is filled with proven match winners, rising individuals and high potential players. One of the rising player is Eddie Nketiah who may see a drop in playing time and Everton can offer him a loan deal.

Now the arrival of Willian will not directly hamper the progress of Eddie Nketiah. But the Brazilian’s inclusion in the team will make it hard for youngsters like Nketiah, Riess Nelson to regularly feature. Eddie Nketiah, an Arsenal academy graduate has the potential to play anywhere in the front. He is a traditional forward but can slot at either wing and not allow his level of performance to drop.

With Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka blooming, Mikel Arteta may look to loan someone like Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson or either one of the two. Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazatte, there’s too much first team quality and the youngster will have to bear the effects of it.

Eddie Nketiah spent the first half of the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds United playing 495 Championship minutes scoring 3 goals. The 21 year old did have more minutes in the second half of the season at Emirates. But that is soon about to change with Willian’s arrival.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team are on the lookout for an attacker too and Nketiah can provide the much needed squad depth. Richarlison may be seen drifting wide at times onto the wing giving an opportunity to someone like Kean or Nketiah to play up-top. The 21 year old can do a reasonable job at the wings too so he’s a versatile option to have.

When the Toffees are considering multiple signings this transfer window, making big money moves won’t be possible, you’ll have to resort to a few loan signings and quality signings not just players to make up numbers. Eddie Nketiah is someone who will add thrill and threat to the attack.
