Everton target Andreas Pereira is open to leaving Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is open to leaving Old Trafford in a bid to be a first team player elsewhere. The Brazilian has been out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has featured for 36 minutes since the Premier League restart. Pereira has been linked with Everton before and now the player making himself available may see a number of offers arrive at the desk of OGS.

In mid-June, a report from 90min stated that Everton, West Ham United and Newcaslte United were eyeing a move for Andreas Pereira who was made available for sale by Manchester United as they were looking to generate funds for big arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish. The utility man was a fringe player and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer no longer needed his services in the squad.

The Brazilian has played a total of 25 Premier League games this term but failed to convince the United hierarchy that he deserves to feature for the Red Devils. The Toffees have been linked to a number of Manchester United targets this summer. Diogo Dalot, Sergio Romero and Jesse Lingard were the other names associated with a possible move to Goodison Park.

The latest report from Goal confirms Pereira’s desire to leave Manchester in search of playing time. Bruno Fernandes’ arrival and the fact that the Red Devils are hunting another midfielder has casted major doubts over the Brazilian’s future at Old Trafford.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

As per Goal, a number of clubs are interested in signing the 24 year old midfielder capable of playing in a number of midfield positions. So with Andreas Pereira open to listening offers from other teams, should Everton chip in?

I’d say No. Despite all the links, Andreas Pereira will contribute very little in improving the squad quality. He is just above average and not a player that will suit Ancelotti’s style. Yes, he is capable of playing as a central midfielder, as a No.10 and even in a double pivot, but he has never heavily impressed in any of these positions.

He spent one season on loan at Valencia where he looked sharp and sturdy but since his return to Old Trafford, Pereira has failed to replicate those stats and the form that he produced at Mestalla.

Benfica along with Spanish and Italian clubs are interested in Andreas Pereira and it would be better to see him cross the English channel and ply his trade in La Liga or Serie A.

The search of a ball winning midfielder continues for Everton and now decisions need to be made quickly or else Everton will be stuck with the same mediocre midfield for the next season too.
