Former Real Madrid and Napoli winger Jose Callejon can solve Everton right wing issues.
Napoli recently bid adieu to one of their most successful forwards in recent times. Jose Callejon left Naples as a free agent after spending 7 years with Gli Azzuri. The former Real Madrid man is now on the hunt for his next challenge and Everton could be the chapter he may be looking for.
Carlo Ancelotti has his work cut out in this transfer window to fix multiple problems in a very short amount of time and truncated resources. Free transfers will be a massive boost as money saved on each deal will help the Toffees to put it to use elsewhere in some other transfer. A free transfer of Thiago Silva is being discussed as his association with PSG comes to an end.
There’s another free transfer Everton must look into. Jose Callejon is a free agent and is well versed with Carlo Ancelotti’s style and tactics. Marcel Brands may look into bringing the Spaniard to Goodison Park. Napoli decided not to renew Callejon’s contract and allowed him to leave Stadio San Paolo after the completion of this weird season.
The 33 year old has begun his search for the new club and has some interest from his homeland. Two Andalusian clubs Sevilla and Real Betis are keen on the Spaniard’s services, as per Calciomercato. Jose Callejon still has a lot to give and should instead consider a move to a Premier League side.

Despite hitting the age of 33, he has not shown alarming signs of slowing down. It is true that his performances have dropped slightly but that is a given when a winger or an attacker hits the age of 30, unless you are Lionel Messi, Ronaldo or Robert Lewandowski. The former Real Real Madrid man has always been a threat on the right flank for Napoli, scoring 82 goals and providing 78 assists in 349 games.
During his early career days, the Real Madrid faithful also enjoyed watching him as he racked up 20 goals and 7 assists in 77 games for Los Blancos in his two years tenure. At Napoli, he has been an unsung hero in the attack as Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens always walked away with the praise and applause.
Jose Callejon is a hard working attacker occupying the wide right position in Napoli’s 4-4-2 under Ancelotti. His ability to link up with his teammates is very underrated and unlike wingers who often look to do the spectacular with the solo effort, Jose Callejon will instead pass it to a teammate in a better position, putting the team ahead of him.
The Spaniard is blessed with superb vision and composure on the ball, he can never be bullied into making unnecessary mistakes. His cross field passes are a trademark and this attribute of his has allowed Lorenzo Insigne to reap benefits for years. The 33 year old is a devilish crosser of the ball, whipping crosses that often slits the opposition defence and finds the target head.
He can solve the right wing issues in a flash and since he is available for free, it won’t hurt the Everton pockets. Carlo Ancelotti loves him and would never object to his signing. Jose Callejon is a supremely talented player with tanks of experience that can aid Everton in their pursuit of European football.
