PSG has been urged to renew the contract of Everton target Thiago Silva.
The name of Thiago Silva is constantly running through the Everton offices, even more after Gabriel Magalhaes deal is almost dead. Now to further complicate matters, reputed journalist Pierre Menes has hinted that PSG will work to renew a deal for Everton target Thiago Silva.
Thiago Silva will be a free agent at the end of this campaign and PSG sporting director Leonardo had earlier accepted that the Brazilian will be on the list of departures along with Thomas Meunier and Edinson Cavani. Thiago Silva too accepted that he may have to leave PSG but won’t just return to Fluminense as he has unfinished business in Europe.
Carlo Ancelotti was happy to reunite with the 35 year old and gave thumbs up to Marcel Bramds for making the transfer happen. The club hierarchy and player’s entourage also established contact and discussed a possible move. Ancelotti also had a seat on the negotiations table in a bid to persuade Silva to join the Toffees.
The talks over his future have been put on hold for now as PSG find themselves in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Thiago Silva was rock solid in Les Pariseins’ 2-1 comeback over Atalanta and kept Duvan Zapata silent for most part of the game. His brilliant performances despite his growing age have sparked a notion of whether PSG should consider renewing his contract.

According to Le10 Sport, French Journalist Pierre Menes has called for the extension of the veteran defender. A compromise can be agreed between the French giants and Silva with the Brazilian taking a pay cut and extending his contract. Menes said:
"I think above all that we have to go back and extend Thiago Silva. He’s playing hard, he’s one of the best in PSG’s three official matches. He is the best defender and a great footballer to whom you can offer a contract extension with a reduction in salary rather than spending € 30-40 million on a player."
If Leonardo does offer a contract renewal to Thiago Silva, it may not be encouraging news to Everton. Despite a firm interest, the Toffees are never going to match the £250,000 a week wages and if Silva is to take a pay cut he may take a wage cut and remain in Paris and play Champions League football.
Everything remains frozen until the end of Champions League. However, the transfer may come to life soon fater the end of European competitions and that is the time when a final decision can be expected from PSG or Everton may get a one-on-one with Silva to convince him to join the Merseysiders.
