Everton has enquired about Rafinha before in this transfer window.

3. Rafinha

Another FC Barcelona midfielder who is not considered first team worthy. In fact, he was surplus to requirements last season and that is why he was sent on loan to Celta Vigo. The 27 year old played 32 La Liga games for Celta and was essentially a utility man.

That is Rafinha’s biggest virtue, he is capable of playing as a central midfielder, as a winger and even as an attacking midfielder. His availability enables any coach to mix and match the team shape and formations.

Everton need to bring versatile players that can do the job in multiple positions rather than bringing players that are only able to perform in one particular role. In fact, the Toffees hyave already enquired about the 27 year old, as per Daily Mail. Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves are also tracking the Brazilian but so far no move has materialized.

Rafinha has rejected a huge salary from Shanghai Shenhua in order to stay in Europe. The 27 year old has a release clause of £14.5 million which shouldn’t be a problem for Everton.

A reenergized squad with the likes of Allan, Andre Gomes, Rafinha and Vidal will look solid. Plus team chemistry will shoot up making the transition on the pitch a whole lot easier.

Everton have signed multiple Barcelona players in the same transfer window before and there is no reason to believe that the Royal Blues will again look to target Barcelona players who are no longer needed at the club.
