Talks between Napoli and Everton over Hirving Lozano have instantly fallen through.

Napoli and Everton are having a peculiar transfer window. On one front they are battling raxh other to sign players like Gabriel Magalhaes and Sergio Reguilon and on the other front they are on the negotiating the transfers of Allan and Nikola Maksimovic to Goodison Park. A third Napoli player, Hirving Lozano, was said to be discussed between the two teams as well.

As for Allan, Everton is closer than ever to complete the signing with the Brazilian ready with his bags packed to make the voyage from Italy to England. Meanwhile, Marcel Brands is simultaneously working to bring centre back Nikola Maksimovic from Naples, who has just one year left on his contract.

A third Napoli player was also discussed between Aurelio De Laurentiis and the Toffees, Hirving Lozano. The Mexican had a troublesome first season in Serie A. During Ancelotti’s reign, Lozano was settling at a slow rate, however, under Genarro Gattuso, his progress seems to have hit a roadblock. His development has gone downhill as the former AC Milan coach doesn’t keep him in high regards.

There has been some tension between Gattuso and Lozano, with the Italian even dismissing him from training earlier this year for not being focused. In fact, Hirving Lozano even asked his agent, Mino Raiola, to find him a new club this summer. Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees were an interested outfit.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

However, CalcioNapoli24 claim that talks have taken place between Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis and Everton counterparts over a possible transfer of Hirving Lozano and the talks have instantly fallen through. Gli Azzurri do not want to sell him off completely.

A loan move can gain momentum in upcoming weeks but from Napoli’s latest stance it looks like they now want to keep the Mexican speedster. To further attest the report, Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via 100x100Napoli) suggest that the Serie A outfit are not keen to give up on Hirving Lozano.

Napoli have also conveyed it to Mino Raiola that Hirving Lozano is a part of the project next season. Things will only change if an offer arrives that is too tempting to refuse. With the above reports, it confirms that Napoli have had a change of heart and are prepared to offer another chance to the 24 year old.

Everton were big admirers of the Mexican and will for sure have received a set back with the news. The file of Hirving Lozano would have been opened multiple times in Everton offices but now that file may remain closed forever.
