Everton should consider signing Jonny Evans from Leicester City.
The Gabriel Magalhaes transfer saga has seen Everton waste a lot of time and now the Toffees find themselves back to square one. Nikola Maksimovic is another option but that deal is in an infant stage. Everton should instead lookout for someone with decent Premier League experience to ease the transition. Leicester City defender Jonny Evans must be considered a possible target.
Brendan Rodgers Leicester City were on a roll last season, looking to cement the third position on the table until the Corona Virus pandemic forced the league to be halted indefinitely. After the restart, the Foxes never regained the rhythm of first half and ended their campaign in the 5th place.
A large part of this success is down to the likes of Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Ben Chilwell and Caglar Soyuncu. However, there is one player who has put in a tremendous shift and his efforts have gone under the radar.
Jonny Evans was a rock in the Leicester defence throughout the season. He did get some stick for some errors towards the end of the weird season but his overall performance was top notch.
The Foxes may struggle to keep hold of Evans as he enters the final year of his contract, as per Daily Mail. The 32 year old arrived from West Brom and overturned the notion that his career and form is going downhill.
With Foxes possibly finding it difficult to keep Evans, Rodgers has been evaluating on possible recruitments and eyes Preston North End’s Ben Davies. Should Evans not agree to stay at King Power Stadium, Everton should monitor his situation.

The Toffees themselves are keen to bolster their defence and Jonny Evans can be a perfect match. He has loads of Premier League experience and can steady a shaky defence. There are very few players who get better with age and Jonny Evans is one of them. With experience, his overall quality and leadership qualities have increased.
Yerry Mina is highly unreliable with his injury issues and Michael Keane has not been very consistent. No such problems will arise with Evans, he has been largely injury free, playing all 38 Premier League games last term and is Mr.Dependable.
He is composed on the ball, has good passing abilities and never looks afraid to put in meaty challenges. With Jonny Evans entering the final year of the contract, Everton have a golden opportunity on their hands.
Transfermarkt values Evans at £10 million but with only one year left on his Foxes deal, he will be available for much cheaper than that. Leicester City are already seeking new options which could ultimately mean a farewell for Evans from King Power.
