Michael Keane and Yerry Mina are expected to start second game 5 days due to the lack of options at Centre back.

Defence:

Right back: Jonjoe Kenny

Jonjoe Kenny hasn’t had an explosive start nor has he been underwhelming. He has shown signs of positivity and potential in both the Carabao Cup games he has played. Kenny has displayed some top attacking talent and has been decent while doing his defensive duties.

Jonjoe Kenny needs more game time to further hone his skills and cup ties like these are the best opportunity. Kenny will get to play against a proper Premier League side which will allow him to measure the work he needs to do to get to a level that he can challenge Seamus Coleman.

Centre back: Yerry Mina

Yerry Mina received mix reviews for his weekend performance where he was aggressive enough and kept the Crystal Palace strikers silent but some of his decision making could be questioned. Due to the lack of available options in the central defence, Ancelotti will have to stick to Mina and Keane. Lucas Digne could be used as a makeshift cntre back but West Ham aren’t a weak side and Toffees shouldn’t risk it.

Centre back: Michael Keane

Michael Keane has put in a tremendous shift. The 27 year old has featured in all the Everton games playing the entire 90 minutes of each game. He has now played 5 games in 14 days which is an example of how hard he has worked to achieve a certain level of fitness. Keane was another player who was inconsistent and suffered minor setbacks but it feels that he has broken all those shackles off this season.

Left back: Niels Nkounkou

I am super excited to see Niels Nkounkou feature against West Ham United. Carlo Ancelotti has been left awestruck by the performances of the 18 year old and has indicated in one of his press conferences that Nkounkou will be a part of the team in the Carabao Cup fourth round. He was simply ecstatic against Fleetwood and has displayed his A-game so far.
