Everton are set to welcome Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park.

After an imposing victory in the Carabao Cup, Everton are set to lock horns with Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League. For an Evertonian, the biggest news going into the weekend will not be Donald Trump’s positive COVID-19 result but the absence of Allan. The Brazilian is injured and ruled out which is one of the most saddening news of the week.

Allan is an instrumental piece in screening the back four and his absence will surely be felt even if Ancelotti comes up with a plan. Richarlison was another player who picked up an injury and will undergo a late fitness test to determine whether he’s available for the clash or not.

Ancelotti also stated in his press conference that Andre Gomes is ruled out for tomorrow while Mason Holgate, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remain long term injuries.

With some key players unavailable, the starting eleven may have some surprise names apart from the usual James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and other regular starters. Here is my predicted lineup:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford has had a topsy turvy season. He began the season on a strong note with a man of the match worthy performance against Tottenham Hotspur but since then he has mainly failed to repeat those levels of output.

He hasn’t had much to do between the posts in the last two games, which is a bit of an alarming thing. He is known to become complacent and not having to work hard in the game can affect his concentration but we can hope that he’ll do well against Brighton and Hove Albion.
