Outcast Muhamed Besic failed to secure a deadline day move but could still go to a Championship club.

2. Departure: Muhamed Besic

Muhamed Besic doesn’t have a future at Goodison Park. He is never going to be able to compete with the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucuore for the starting spot. Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear to Besic that he doesn’t feature in his plans.

There was a lot of talk of Rangers signing him on deadline day but no move materialized. Mo Besic isn’t a bad player but he simply doesn’t have the quality to thrive in a squad that has players like Allan. He may do exceptionally well in the Championship and that is why I feel that a departure could still be on the cards.

Everton are doing everything possible to trim the wage bill and execute the squad clear out. Everton have as many as 31 players in the squad, almost enough to make 3 separate starting lineups.

Muhamed Besic spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship and was a key cog in the midfield for the Boro. He was with Championship side for half of 2017-18 and that is when he caught the eye and Boro took him again on loan for the next season.

It is unlikely that he’ll wear an Everton shirt again and Championship clubs will be interested in him based on the evidence that he has a good track record in the lower division.
