With the arrival of Robin Olsen, Everton will look to ship off Jonas Lossl.

3. Departure: Jonas Lossl

Everton announced the loan signing of Robin Olsen to provide competition to Jordan Pickford. Joao Virginia signed a four year extension deal with the Toffees and was handed his Everton debut against Salford City in the Carabao Cup. All of the above signs point in one direction, the exit of Jonas Lossl.

Carlo Ancelotti pressed earlier that he wants a squad of 25 players and only 3 keepers. Pickford, Olsen and Virginia will be the preferred trio of keepers leaving Lossl in the waters of uncertainty.

The Danish goalkeeper was signed on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town in 2019 by Marco Silva but is yet to make an appearance for the Royal Blues. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Huddersfield, making 15 appearances in total. There is a high probability he’ll be sold or loaned back to a Championship side.

I don’t get the point of signing Jonas Lossl. He was never too good to challenge Pickford and never got a chance to play and show if he has the ability to remain a backup. A move to a Championship side will at least ensure he gets regular football.
