Everton had tabled an offer for Cengiz Under.

Left winger: Everton Soares (Benfica)

Everton namesake player was hopeful of sealing a move to Europe this summer from Gremio. Everton and Benfica were fighting for the Brazilian’s signature who shot to prominence following an inspiring Copa America in 2019. Carlo Ancelotti personally called Everton Soares to make him aware that the Toffees were keen on him. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Everton snubbed Everton and moved to Benfica.

Striker: Jhon Cordoba (Hertha Berlin)

This was a very loose link but there was interest for sure. The 27 year old had one year left on his deal at FC Koln and was not very optimistic about his future in Cologne. Everton were interested in bringing him to Merseyside with the player ejected contract proposals from Koln. However, Everton didn’t do enough to pursue Cordoba and he signed for Hertha Berlin

Right wing: Cengiz Under (Leicester City)

The Turk was initially linked back in June and the talk again gained momentum late in September. In fact, Everton also tabled a solid offer for Cengiz Under but eventually, Leicester City ran away with the speedster. The Royal Blues were reportedly in the market to sign a winger and the likes of Cengiz Under, Leon Bailey and Wilfried Zaha were linked.  Under moved on a season loan to Leicester with an obligation to buy.
