Everton striker Moise Kean joined PSG on loan despite a chance to return to his homeland Italy with Juventus also keen on him.

Everton signed Moise Kean last season for a sum of £27 million from Juventus. He arrived in England with a lot of promise and potential. Unfortunately, that didn’t translate on the field and many soon termed him as a flop. However, it wasn’t his fault that his ability wasn’t transformed on the pitch. The lack of chances played a part and hurt his confidence.

This transfer window, Kean was one of the most talked players with numerous reports stating Juventus wanting the 20 year old back at Allianz Stadium. Andrea Pirlo wanted Kean as a deputy number 9. The player’s agent, Mino Raiola was also working the background with Juve to convince Everton into agreeing to a move.

Everton were not keen to let the 20 year old go permanently. Despite his slow start in England, the Toffees hierarchy had full faith in the striker that he’d be successful at Goodison. Hence, they had a firm stance of not letting Kean leave permanently.

Carlo Ancelotti always had full confidence in the Italian and asserted that Kean’s future lies at Goodison. Perhaps, it was the striker’s wish to make a move and Everton agreed to let him go on loan. All this while, Juventus was thought to be his preferred destination until PSG came calling very late and took him on loan just one day before the deadline day.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

It is a straight forward loan deal with PSG paying the entire salary and not offering any loan fee. Now that he has moved to Paris, Moise Kean has opened up on his loan move and why he chose PSG over a return to Juventus.

"It certainly gave me great emotion, I expect to learn a lot from this wonderful experience and to bring many results back home. I’m young, I can always learn, I like doing it alongside great strikers. I will learn from their experience, from the way they play. I didn’t mind leaving English football, it didn’t touch me that much, I went to France to learn. The Everton fans banner for me? As soon as I saw it it was exciting because I didn’t expect it. It was really exciting. It is absolutely true that I could have returned to Juve, but the decision was made with my family and now I find myself playing in French football. It is not the first time for me in Paris: there (via Tuttoercatoweb)"

Seeing him move to PSG was a bit of a surprise but now he’ll be in the vicinity of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi and will perhaps learn a lot from these world class players and come back to Goodison as a polished player.
