Allan and Andre Gomes are expected to return to the midfield.

Midfield:

Central Defensive midfielder: Allan

Allan missed the Brighton game after injuring his groin against West Ham. While it was not a long term injury, the Toffees remained cautious in putting a stipulated recovery time. The Brazilian is now declared completely fit and there’s no reason for us to not believe that why Allan won’t in the starting lineup.

Allan will have one of the most important duties against Liverpool that is to break down the lethal Liverpool attack before it reaches the shores of Everton defence.

Central midfielder: Abdoulaye Doucoure

Abdoulaye Doucoure will play a key part in tomorrow’s game making those quick transitions from defence to attack and always trying to give a numerical advantage in defence and offence. With Liverpool playing with a highline, Doucoure could initiate attacks from time to time.

The 27 year old has added more steel to the midfield and refurbished the engine room. In order for the Reds to make an impact and put Everton in a spot of bother, they’ll first have to negotiate Doucoure.

Central midfielder: Andre Gomes

Andre Gomes was ruled out of the game against Brighton but is ready to take on Liverpool in the Mersyside derby. As I mentioned, Liverpool play with a high line and orchestrating counter attacks could be a key plan to neutralize the threat from Klopp’s men. In such a case, Gomes’ pass spraying and ability to thread those long balls can come clutch.
