Alex Iwobi is the most predicted choice for the left wing role.

3. Can Alex Iwobi fill in for Richarlison on the left-wing?

Ancelotti thinks so. He said as much  in a story in Saturday’s Liverpool Echo

The Everton manager thinks Iwobi can be a goal-threat when playing on the left side of Everton’s front three. The 24-year-old is the favourite to replace the Brazilian. Ancelotti said Bernard and Alex Gordon are also possibilities but Iwobi looks the most likely.

The Nigerian international has not been impressive since joining Everton from Arsenal for £28 million in August of 2019. He made 29 appearances in all competitions and ended with two goals and one assist.

He’s already almost matched those numbers this season, despite not making a Premier League start, yet.

He’s made four substitute appearances in the league so far and has one assist. He’s been better in the League Cup. He started 5-2 win against Fleetwood in the third round and scored as well as setting up a goal. He came on as a sub in the 4-1 win against West Ham in the fourth-round.

Ancelotti told the Echo

"He did well when he played against Brighton, he gave an assist to James to score. He didn’t play a lot, but he played in the cup, he scored goals. I have total confidence with him. We also have to consider we have Gordon and we have Bernard in that position who can replace Richarlison, with different quality but I have confidence in all of them."
