Allan and Doucoure covered a lot of ground, worked hard but didn’t have the impact they’d wished to have.

Midfield:

Allan – 6

At this point, it is very clear to anyone watching Everton play that Allan is one of the hardest-working players on the pitch and that was once again evident today. The Brazilian ran and ran trying to cover ground, pressurize Southampton into making mistakes while also helping his fellow teammates in possession. However, most of his efforts looked to be going in vain as he looked a lone soldier fighting a lost battle.

Hot. Ancelotti’s cold shoulder to Everton man can spark January exit talks. light

Abdoulaye Doucoure- 6

Doucoure is living to the tag of being an energy tank with the Frenchman covering a lot of distance and trying to keep up the intensity. Doucoure pressed higher up the pitch, often finding himself close to Calvert-Lewin but his pressing and strength didn’t make a big impact. He was one of the better performers this afternoon.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 5

Sigurdsson could have scored a worldie had his effort gone in instead of hitting the bar. That was his best moment of the game and since then the Iceman was never up to the mark. His shortcomings in defence were pretty evident while his participation in the attack was minimal.
